What owners have shared

"My grandfather's Seiko had been sitting in a drawer for years — running almost two minutes slow per day. Krit was very straightforward about what he found and what it would take. The timing report I received was genuinely useful; I could actually understand the numbers. Watch is now running within about five seconds a day. Very pleased."

"I was here on holiday and noticed one link had come loose on my bracelet — it was starting to feel uncomfortable. Found Thip Wela online and walked in. The fitting was done the same afternoon, they also cleaned the case while I waited, and charged a sensible price. Nothing complicated, but handled properly."

"I brought in a dress watch for the full restoration package. The scope of work was explained before they started — they noted the crystal was more scratched than I had realised and quoted for a replacement separately, which I agreed to. The watch came back looking and running considerably better. Turnaround was about 12 days, which felt reasonable for the scope."

"I appreciated most that they stopped to call me midway through — they had found that the crown gasket was worn and said it was not in the original service scope but they wanted my view before replacing it. That kind of communication is exactly what I want when a watch matters to me. The written record was a nice touch too."

Rawai, Phuket — 22 Apr 2025

"I have lived in Phuket for six years and tried two other watch repair shops before finding Thip Wela. The difference is the communication — you always know what is happening and why. My automatic has never kept better time than after the tune-up they did. I will be back for the full service eventually."

"My partner brought his vintage Omega for a comfort fitting — the bracelet clasp had stretched and it kept sliding around. The team was friendly and very methodical. I noticed they had notes written about the watch before they even started. Good experience. Would have liked a slightly shorter wait but the result was worth it."

Case studies

From arrival to collection

A closer look at what the process was like for three different pieces — in the customer's own words, with detail about the journey.

The situation

A vintage manual-wind watch, last serviced around twelve years ago. Running erratically — gaining two minutes one day, losing a minute the next. Crown felt slightly stiff.

The work

Full Restoration & Protection Package. Movement disassembled and cleaned. Crown and tube replaced after discussion with owner. Case refinished gently — all tool marks preserved as requested. Water-resistance tested.

The outcome

Returned after 13 working days running within ±8 seconds per day across six positions. Customer received a three-page written record. Quote from owner: "It feels like the watch I always wanted it to be."

The situation

A modern automatic worn daily. Running well but the owner had noticed the bracelet had worked loose over time — uncomfortable on hot days, kept turning on the wrist.

The work

Comfort Fitting & Refresh. Bracelet resized with two links removed. Clasp inspected — ratchet found to be worn, owner consulted, new clasp fitted. Case and bracelet cleaned. Seal condition noted in writing.

The outcome

Completed in two working days. Owner collected a bracelet that sits exactly where it should and a written note advising the next seal check within 18 months given Phuket's humidity.

The situation

A field watch, worn regularly, that had started running fast — around 45 seconds per day gain. Owner not sure if it needed a full service or just a regulation.

The work

Wind & Accuracy Tune. Initial timing measurement showed high amplitude and a beat error of 0.8ms — movement in reasonable condition. Regulation brought it within ±12 seconds across positions. Lubrication check — no full service needed yet.

The outcome

Returned in four working days. Owner received a timing report with before and after figures. Quote: "They could have sold me a full service but they were honest — it didn't need one yet."
